The Nightmare Room

My new play THE NIGHTMARE ROOM will have a staged reading at the Asylum Lab Theatre on Sunday, July 20 at 8pm. The reading is directed by Doug Oliphant and features Steve Madar and Paul Turbiak.

In 1954, war hero and father of computer science Alan Turing sets out to reinvent himself as a biologist, but a conviction for gross indecency with the punishment of chemical castration threatens to shatter his legacy.

Lunar

LUNAR, written for The Vagrancy’s 24-hour play festival Rituals: A Bacchanalia, premiered at The Lounge Theatre in Los Angeles on April 12. The play was directed by Doug Oliphant with cast members Michael Lopez, Hunter Stiebel, and Lindsay Weisberg.

David is having trouble with his husband, Alex, ripping up the floorboards and refusing to wear pants. They go to see Dr. Proctor, an intern with a PhD in Mental Relaxation, who engages them in what he likes to call “combat therapy.” As the gloves come off, David must confront the scared little boy inside Alex.

I will be moderating a talkback with playwright Kristin Idaszak after the reading of her play on November 17. The reading is produced by The Vagrancy in association with Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative. Sabina Ptasznik will direct.

On New Year’s Eve, a catastrophic car accident leaves Mark’s twin sister in a coma and his girlfriend dead. When nude photographs of his sister surface on the internet, Mark goes in search of answers to what happened that night, and in the process is forced to confront her boyfriend, their father, and his own secrets. THE LIAR PARADOX explores the nature of death in the Information Age and the timelessness of love, loss and identity.
